How can you become a skillful negotiator?
In the last blog, we covered some tips to become a skillful negotiator, but here are some that need to be included:
Find Individual Interests-
Being a successful negotiator means that you have to find interests that help to foster the negotiation.
Some examples are:
Your personal interest-
To go on a quick, weekend vacation.
Your partner or spouse’s personal interest-
To stay home and have friends over.
Common ground interest-
To have a peaceful weekend and stay happy with one another.
When you are able to identify the personal interests, you then have to find a way to come up with a solution and then finally, you have to find a solution that is good for both you and your partner or spouse.
It is impossible to come up with a final solution if you do not know what the personal interests are of both you and your partner or spouse.
When both you and your partner or spouse come to a common ground agreement, it is a time where you have become unified.
